Home Barista

Many people talk about baristas and often they are refered to in a professional capacity, overlooking the home barista, but as the espresso based coffee culture grows around the world many people are taking a huge interest in becoming a home barista. Preparing coffee at home is something people have done for many many year and now we seem to be moving toward preparing espresso based drinks at home.

This is where the home barista steps up. This is a term used for non professional baristas who have a passion for coffee and love to prepare thier favourite drinks at home for themselves and thier friends or family memebers.

Home baristas are now get more and more clued up, many are training to levels that only professional baristas achieve, many home baristas are buying high end coffee machines that are capable of preparing better quality coffee drinks.

For many home baristas being able to prepare great coffee at home is nothing more than a hobbie built on a passion for good coffee. Many even take further steps such as home roasting, where the home barista roast free coffee beans as well as then grinding them and finally extracting the grinds for an espresso.

Home roasters allow the home barista to take the passion to newer levels and it adds further depth to thier hobby. For the home barista who is totally addicted then the abilty to grow coffee themselves may well be desirable, and if the said home barista has a home roaster then there is no reason why they cant cover the complete scale, from growing to extracting.
